Active Vacations
A vacation for those who like to keep on the go whilst enjoying travel, with activities like hiking, diving and
canoeing
Active Vacations are for those travellers who wish to take part in
activities around the World including Hiking, Diving, Sailing, Cycling and Climbing. These Vacations can range from gentle exercise to more
extreme exertions that you would find on a trip hiking across the
Sahara. One thing that must be considered when going on a Vacation of this type is your physical and
mental fitness levels, as some trips can be very difficult indeed.

The Earth on which we live on has a great
deal of varied landscapes from the Lunar scenery of the Atacama Desert in Chile to the dense Jungles of Central Africa and it is these
diverse settings which gives us the chance to take part in some of these exciting activities.
Hiking, for example is one of the most popular activities for those
visiting other Countries and many Holiday companies recognise this and offer package deals
to some of the Planets most remote hiking spots. Popular destinations for keen hikers are the Rockies
in Canada and America, the Alps in Europe and the
immense Himalaya in the Indian Sub-Continent. What people don’t always realise is that it
doesn’t have to be a mountainous region to be a perfect hiking location! Jungle and Desert hikes are gaining in popularity ever year, as is
gentler walks around the vineyards of France or the prairies of the American Midwest.
There are plenty of hiking destinations around the World to choose from.
Diving is another popular Travel activity and many divers head out
to South East Asia, the Caribbean and
the Middle East to explore the colourful wildlife of the underwater World. There are
plenty of PADI recognised Dive Schools around the World and it is a great way to spend your Vacation. Different parts of the World attract
different types of Divers as well, with more advanced divers visiting the WW2 battlegrounds of the Pacific
Islands to wreck dive and those interested in conservation diving around the
Great Barrier Reef off Australia. Even if
you don’t fancy full scale Scuba diving, there is always the chance to go snorkelling. With the clear blue waters of French Polynesia or the Maldives, there is a really
good chance of seeing some beautiful water life without having to don the wetsuit.
Kayaking and Canoeing, while not as popular (at the moment) as diving
and hiking is another great way of exploring this wonderful World and being at one with nature. Whether it is an organised tour around
the Islands off the Croatian coast or an expedition down one of the Amazon’s tributaries,
it is a guarantee you will never feel more at ease with the World you live in.
Sailing is considered by many people to be a rich persons sport and
that prejudice can be considered true in many ways, but not in all. It is possible nowadays to go on an organised package deal which not only
rents out the yacht to you but in many cases offers professional instruction too.
So go on…..Get Active!
