Salinas Reef - Black Treasure Bank (Tesoro Negro): This dive is suitable for beginners to advanced divers. Incredible black corals, sponges, sea slugs and anemones are found in the reef wall. At the foot of the reef are tube anemones and peacock worms and on the sandy floor groups of rays are often found. Depths are from 12m to 40m.

Corralejo

Corralejo is at the far northern end of the Island, it is a good deal bigger than Caleta de Fuste. The original part of the Town surrounds the old harbour, which is used by local fishermen. Corralejo Marina serves as a point for the glass bottomed boat ride across to the small Island of Lobos, or Lanzarote which is around 35 minutes away. There are also local tours that offer various trips from the harbour.

Playa la Clavellina is located here; it is a small but protected beach which provides safe bathing for both locals and visitors. The majority of restaurants, bars and shops are along the main street that goes down into Corralejo and ends in a warren of small streets near the seafront. In the square there are restaurants and bars with live music every night. Traditional restaurants can be found in the smaller side streets. Also on the main street, just as you enter the resort, there's market selling everything from local produce to souvenirs every day and in the same location, popular in the early evenings, there is a children’s play area with small rides, playground and bouncy castles can be located.

Larger beaches can be found not far south of the old port, from these beaches, panoramic views of the Island of Lobos can be enjoyed. The town is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and sand dunes that form a nature reserve. The beaches between Punta de Tivas and the Tres Islas hotels, called Playa del Pozo, Playa del Medano and Playa de Viejo adjoin one another making it seem like one long beach. These beaches are exposed to the wind and make a perfect location for water sports. For sunbathers there are spherical stone structures that act as a windbreak.

Naturists use some of these beaches, the stance on naturism on Fuerteventura is pretty relaxed and there are not any specific nominated naturist beaches as such, although the beach at Playa de Pozo appears to be a favourite with naturists.

Due to the location of Corralejo on the Island, it is well situated for many sports activities. The north and east facing beaches nearby allow those who enjoy surfing, windsurfing or kite boarding to move to different locations to suit their needs.

Dive sites in Corralejo include:

El Calamareo: This boat dive is suitable for beginners to advanced divers. The reef of Calamareo is located north-east of Corralejo around a mile off coast. The reef extends in an east-west direction, and is a wall falling vertically down to 22 meters maximum, forming vaults, large and small caves, canyons and passageways, with many large rocks. There is a wide range of marine life in abundance at this site.

El Calamareo II: This dive site is close to El Calamareo with similar characteristics.

Punta Lala: This boat dive is suitable for beginners to advanced divers. This site is located further north than El Calamareo II a mile off coast. This dive is a slope of basaltic furnace which descends to 17 meters, forming furrows and cavities, reaching to the deep area of sand. The upper part is covered by diverse species of algae, the marine life includes Barracuda, all types of Bream and in the sand depending on the time of year there are Angel Sharks and Rays. Depths are from 8m to 17m.
