The beaches of Salinetas and Tufia are a prolongation of the old pre-Hispanic settlement that once existed on the site. All these beaches are excellent for swimmers, due to the tremendous weather conditions and the range of facilities available. Telde also has well maintained coastal footpaths that are perfect for pleasant strolls by the sea.

There are numerous establishments and shopping centres located in the main parts of the City, principally in the San Gregorio area. Craft items characteristic of Telde are basketry, the popular Canary Islands knife, weaving and natural dyes, pottery and work on iron and metal. Some of the craft workshops that can be visited are located in the oldest areas of the Municipality, and it is possible to see work being completed on site and products are available for sale. There is a street market held on Saturdays in the centre of Telde and another one on Sundays in the Jinámar area, where you can buy local produce and handicrafts.
